A throwback for my antique lovers…
Georgian Three Diamond and Blue Enamel Ring, $8,500
A lively, dark royal blue enamel is the background for three bright antique rose cut diamonds of approximately two carats in weight. The stone settings are crimped around the gems in the 18th and 19th century manner. The center diamond, an elongated round, is the largest of the stones. The original shank is intact. c. 1790

A throwback from 1941 for my antique lovers…a rose gold cigarette case by Verdura! I do not smoke but I could see using this to carry credit cards and a lipstick for a nice evening out.
The “Shell” case was designed by Verdura as a part of a series of five cigarette cases for Cole Porter. This one commemorated the release of Columbia Pictures’ You’ll Never Get Rich, starring Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth.

This past weekend I was in New Orleans (one of my favorite cities) and I took some time to stroll down Royal street to look at antiques. One of the stores that caught my eye was Moss Antiques which carries objets d’art, chandeliers, antique furniture and jewelry. I tried on beautiful mourning bracelets with black enamel as well as several gorgeous antique gold rings. With so many one of a kind pieces, it is definitely worth stopping by when you are in New Orleans. Ask for Mark McBride when you do, he is a wealth of knowledge!
