Today has been a rough day. It was one of those days where everything seems choreographed in a key of disharmony and obstacles dance all around you. Among them, was the passing of an amazing jewelry designer, Devon Page McCleary. To call her a colleague may be far too presumptuous, but to call her an inspiration to myself and others is entirely accurate. It is on days like today that I am reminded to be so grateful for the contributions of love and support provided by my friends and family, but also of all the amazing gifts all around us found in the mundanely beautiful and the uniquely brilliant. As an admirer of her work, I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces from her amazing career as an artist, and hopefully share some of the joy, inspiration, and humility that her work has always given me.

Enjoy.

Devon Page McCleary Pounded 18k gold bangle set with diamonds. $11,800.00 at http://www.barneys.com. The handmade quality is reflected in organic shape of the bangle. It speaks to her artistry.

Devon Page McCleary Diamond Pave Ankh necklace. I love the use of ethnic symbolism in fine jewelry. Similarly, the use of the Eban symbols in my own jewelry is inspired by her brave use of this nontraditional symbol. This piece can be found at http://www.barneys.com for $8,750.00.

Devon Page McCleary Diamond Pave Cross on leather cord. $5,200 at http://www.twistonline.com. I am inspired by her use of leather with 18K gold and diamond pave' work. A perfect mix of traditional and non-traditional.

Devon Page McCleary Diamond Pave Dragonfly. The dragonfly symbolizes the ability to see beyond your own limitations. $5,500 at http://www.twistonline.com

Her pieces can also be found at www.rockcandyfinejewelry.com as well.

Remember that life is short, do what you love.

XOXO,
