First Pinterest, now Instagram…

Actually, I joined Pinterest much later but check me out on Instagram!  I have been on it for a while and post pictures from my everyday experiences which of course include jewelry.  Yet another app to filter my creativity through.  Loves it!

Here are some of my recent pictures.  Enjoy!

Some of my Instagram shots

XOXO,

I’m on Pinterest…with everyone else

It’s addictive and quite honestly the best way to keep inspiration at your fingertips.  It allowed me to put away all (almost all) of my inspirational pages around the house that may have contributed to some slight hoarding tendencies.  My boyfriend is quite happy about that and it helped us with ideas on how to redecorate our office space in our apartment.

Check out what I am loving here.

Below are some of my favorite pins of jewelry and other inspirational things.  Enjoy!

XOXO,

My Reading list…

The book “Impact: 50 years of the CFDA” is on my must have list for my personal library:

Published this past Feburary, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) created a book that speaks to the designer in all of us. It reveals some of the the CFDA members personal takes on the impact of the fashion industry and its future. A great source for inspiration.

You can buy the book here.

(I could also save you some money and tell you which ones NOT to buy.  If you want that info you will have to request it away from the blog.  I do not want any authors sending me hate mail.)

XOXO,

Custom vs. Customer

After searching high and low for the perfect gift with no luck, a client came to me and we made it for her instead.

Here is how it all went down:

She was celebrating a belated Valentine’s day and wanted to get her boyfriend a great gift with significant personal meaning.  Keeping her price point in mind, the piece needed to reflect his culture, his personality, and could be worn under clothes or displayed as he desired.  She requested that I design a pendant of the Mayan God, Viracocha.  Check out the inspiration behind the pendant and the final product below.

Enjoy!

Inspired…

I was so inspired by this diamond bracelet and ring which I found while researching trends that I had to share. It is a diamond bracelet which transforms the center stone into a ring by using a hinge mechanism. Thanks to my iPad Wallpaper* magazine app, I was able to see exactly how the jewelers at Graff jewelry made this work. Let me be clear. This is not a trend. This is a work of art by master craftsmen…enough said. Love this!

Enjoy!

A new bag in town…

A new website launched this week called Little Black Bag, and it is awesome!  Why, you ask? It takes shopping to a new exciting level by providing a tailor-made experience.

Based on the fukubukuro or “Lucky Bag” sales event from Japan, Little Black Bag takes this concept virtual as an e-commerce site.

How it works:

1. You will take an interactive style quiz

2. They carefully tailor a mystery bag filled with 2-4 items that match your personal style.

3. You have a week to search their shopping gallery & trade with others to assemble your perfect bag online if you choose.

4. Once trading is over, products are shipped.

The kind people over at Little Black bag sent me some images of cool jewelry that  can be found at www.littleblackbag.com/landing.  They offer jewelry, beauty products, home goods and other accessories for up to %70 off!  Why not check it out?  You will be impressed with the designers brands they carry.

Enjoy!

Love These!!!

Everything is coming up roses

Have you noticed how rose gold is becoming the new neutral? It has been popping up all over the accessories world for the past year or so and it looks great with any skin tone. I just received my new laptop bag from ASOS and it is in rose gold! I love it for several reasons but highest on the list is how this case holds not only my fancy iPad (a gift from My Favorite) but also the keyboard, a notepad, magazine, pen and my phone. It is officially doing double duty as a my version of a backpack (I’m fancy! What can I say?!) and a iPad case. Check out my school supplies below:

The rose gold laptop bag can be found at www.asos.com. I am loving their neon laptop bags as well. The rose gold ring is by yours truly and can be found at Etsy.

Thank you for reading and I’ll check back in with you all later this weekend!

Happy Chinese New Year! This is the year of the Dragon which is supposed to bring in new energy and give birth to powerful individuals.  Side note: two of my girlfriends are due this year and I cannot wait to meet their boys born in the year of the dragon!

Check out some great designs from Jade of Yesteryear on HSN.com and the world-renowned jeweler John Hardy.  Both collections feature dragon elements with refreshing interpretations.

Enjoy,

Perfect rings to stack together if you are looking to make a statement wearing red. This can be found at HSN.com for $69.90

Jade of Yesteryear pendant which can be found at hsn.com for $129.90

John Hardy's dragon cuff in sterling silver which can be found at www.johnhardy.com for $995.00

I love this cuff because although it is wide, it won't be too heavy due to the metal cut outs. This makes this design perfect to wear on each arm as found in the spring 2012 fashion trends. Price: $1995.00

Whether you are following Chinese New Year’s traditions by wearing red and black, eating noodles or dumplings, I wish you much luck and prosperity in 2012!

XOXO,
