Happy Founder’s Day!!

In honor of my sorority being founded on this day in 1908, I decided to showcase some pretty pink and green jewelry!  I know I should be sleeping but I just couldn’t help myself.  Pink and green because they are the colors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  I also put in a beautiful pearl tassel necklace because we are known for our love of our 20 pearls!

And just in case my dad is reading this…I didn’t forget about you!  Happy Birthday Dad!!

Engagement Rings galore!

Maybe it’s because summer is wedding season, or maybe it is because people keep asking me about what type of ring they should buy.  I honestly think it just that I love what I do and love sparkly things like colored stones, but I am all for purchasing a non-traditional engagement ring with an alternative to a diamond.  Many celebrities and royalty have chosen colored stones for their engagement rings.  Depending on the quality and rarity, these stones can cost the equivalent or more than a traditional diamond.  Tanzanite, being a very rare stone that has a finite quantity left to be mined in the next several years, also makes for a wonderful one of a kind engagement ring.  Check out several below:

So…yes, I too am starting a blog.  A blog about jewelry because there is too much beautiful jewelry in the world for me not to share!

As a designer, people are always asking me questions concerning jewelry, whether it pertains to engagement rings or five staple pieces a woman should have in her jewelry wardrobe.  I thought the best thing for me to do would be to put it in a blog for others to reference.  Please keep checking back for more details on what I see at trade shows or on trips around the world.  Of course I’ll have some fun pictures and maybe a video or two!  So welcome to the beginning…
